EASEL OF Ville Laitinen

This is a piece I submitted when applying to school. Spent a lot of time doing this, but I feel like I don't convey the round form(s) so well, and I have a bit of trouble drawing the feet and face with a brush pen.

Practicing the human anatomy and use of watercolors. I have a LOT of trouble being consistent with water colors, a lot of the time the colors just... don't seem to work! Also, I don't have anything to fix the black ink so I had to improvise when trying to make the fingers a bit longer after finding out they were a bit short.

I like the watercolor. You might include more of these in your portfolio submission.

I love the way watercolors look, but I can never get them to do what I want them to! You might try working with gouache, which is a bit more like acrylics, so if something goes wrong you can paint over it once it is dry.

This is a picture that I drew for fun, with no reference image. I have a bit of trouble when trying to draw without reference, but I try it out from time to time - I kinda don't know where to improve or how to approach working with no reference, or how to work with mechanical pencil only.

The straight lines to shape form are useful in starting the drawing, but keep them light and then round the forms when you go back to finish.

I'm trying to get to art university in Finland. I applied to school for the first time, and just barely missed getting in. I try to keep on track and get in next year, I'm sure that I can make it this time!

I am open to critique
I WOULD LIKE HELP WITH

All sort of criticism is welcome, I'm still learning and studying so expect more or less mistakes. :-)
